Weather Forecast for Berkshire Hathaway Weekend

Monday, May 1st, 2017

I am so glad this past weekend was not Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend.

It was rainy. And cold. And windy. And miserable. And a few miles outside of Omaha, it was snowy.

This is not how Nebraska usually looks on May 1st. Photo Courtesy Antelope County News.

But we promise things are looking up! By the time most shareholders arrive into Omaha on Friday, we’ll be back to our usual spring loveliness around here!

The forecast from our good friends at KETV (the local ABC affiliate) shows some perfect weather just in time for shareholders to arrive.

70s and sunny sound amazing – especially after all the rain and nasty weather. It even looks dry – so hopefully we won’t have a bunch of soaked shareholders this year.

Pack accordingly, Berkies! We’ll see you in a few days!

Cool Weather on Tap for Berkshire Shareholders

The best news of all is that it will not snow for this year’s Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend.

I shouldn’t have to write that because it is always the first weekend in May, but do you remember last year!?!

We were not happy. We were scrambling to find heaters to put in our outdoor tents. We were doing snow removal to make room for cars in our parking lot. And we were just plain sick of the cold and snow.

Thankfully, there is no snow in the forecast this year.

But it doesn’t look very warm, either.

KETV Forecast

This forecast, courtesy of our friends at KETV in Omaha says it should be nice by midday Saturday and Sunday. Sunny, highs in the mid 60s. A little chilly for the folks waiting outside the CenturyLink Center early Saturday morning to snag a good seat for the meeting, but otherwise okay.

It may be a little cold at our Friday night cocktail party at Borsheims. No worries there. We have a great band that will keep people dancing and after last year, we definitely know where to find portable heaters!

We Will Keep Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Warm!

Thursday, May 2nd, 2013

It is a record setting day in Omaha!

But not the kind of record we like to set. We received nearly 4 inches of snow overnight and are experiencing cold like we haven’t seen before. Or at least not for the first weekend in May.Tent

But never fear, brave Berkshire Hathaway shareholders! Our tent is going up in our parking lot today and it will keep you warm.

We have six heaters set to be installed in the tent. They will be on a thermostat so we can regulate the temperature inside and keep it at a perfect climate.

The panels on the side of the tent that usually are left open because it’s so hot, will instead be closed to keep the heat inside.

Combine those steps with the band and the bar, and we’ll make sure you are nice and toasty!

See you tomorrow night!

Is this what we get for always referring to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend as our “Christmas in May?”

Omaha woke up to about an inch of wet, slushy snow this morning – also known as Berkshire Eve.
We hope it melts quickly! The tent is supposed to go up in this parking lot today. This is the first time it has snowed here in May in about 50 years. Let’s hope it’s 50 more before it happens again!
