Berkshire Hathaway shareholders attending this year’s annual shareholders weekend will notice a fresh new look at an old Omaha steakhouse.
Warren Buffett’s standby steakhouse, Gorat’s, is under new ownership and has been “de-decorated” in the words of new owner Gene Dunn.
Dunn says he restored the restaurant to how it was originally designed. That involved removing paneling and dropped ceilings, uncovering an old fireplace and windows and discovering some beautiful art deco ceilings.
It really is a fresh new look for the restaurant that used to be a house.
And the menu has been freshened up as well!
For starters, the restaurant now serves world-famous Omaha Steaks.
Take a peek at the new menu here.
New owner Gene Dunn is a long-time restaurant owner in Omaha. He also is the husband of Borsheims President & CEO Susan Jacques.
To make reservations at Gorat’s during Berkshire Hathaway weekend, call (402)551-3733 on Monday, April 1st. Mr. Buffett says he plans to eat there and at Piccolo’s on Sunday, May 5th.
In the meantime, take a sneak peek of the changes at Gorat’s in this slideshow:
