Plan your Berkyville Buys Now!

Thursday, April 20th, 2017

We’re almost two weeks away from the most fun annual shareholders meeting on the planet!

It’s time to start thinking about what deals you can score when you shop in Berkyville – the huge convention center filled with Berkshire Hathaway companies selling their goods to you at a steep discount.

We don’t know yet what kind of great deals our sister companies like Pampered Chef and Brooks will be running this year.

We do know the Bookworm (not a Berkshire company, but a friend) has released its list of Warren Buffett-approved books they’ll have on site. Click here to see what the Oracle hopes you read.

And we’re ready at Borsheims to share the incredible deals on jewelry, watches, and gifts we’ll be offering. These deals are available both Friday and Saturday at the CenturyLink Center and they really are incredible. We have diamond studs, pearl strands, watches, and all sorts of Berkshire Hathaway souvenirs you’ll want to take home at you – at prices that no one can beat.

Watch the video to get a glimpse of all we have to offer this year. But act quick if you want to purchase during Berkshire weekend. Many of our items sell out quickly!

Warren Buffett Helps Couple Get Engaged at Borsheims

Sunday, May 1st, 2016

Warren Buffett helped a couple get engaged at Borsheims during Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend. Borsheims is proud to share in the special moments in our customers’ lives – and feels even more privileged when Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett can make those moments extra special!

Michael Dentlinger, who works for a Berkshire Hathaway company in Omaha, wrote to Mr. Buffett asking for his help in proposing to his girlfriend, Rachel Gogan. Mr. Buffett agreed and, a few weeks after Mr. Dentlinger purchased the engagement ring from Borsheims, Mr. Buffett pulled the ring out of his pocket and Mr. Dentlinger dropped to his knee and proposed.

You can download photos of the proposal here.

The engagement happened at the tail end of Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend in Omaha. Thousands of shareholders visited Borsheims throughout the weekend, buying jewelry, watches, and gifts. They also watched as Mr. Buffett and Bill Gates played table tennis against Olympian Ariel Hsing and played bridge with bridge experts Bob Hamann and Sharon Osberg.

Borsheims is privileged to share in the special moments in our customers’ lives. We believe in treating this opportunity with the respect and importance it deserves. If you have any questions about Borsheims or the events at Borsheims during shareholder weekend, please contact:

ICYMI: The Berkshire Hathaway 6:20 AM Parade

Saturday, May 2nd, 2015

I honestly know of no other parade that starts before 10am. Or that is only a block long. And that had thousands of spectators.

In case you weren’t in the crowds this morning for the first ever Berkshire Hathaway parade, here’s what you missed:

Husker parade

Drum Parade

Stage coachThat’s the whole thing! A parade consisting of four entrants to kick off the shareholders meeting. It was a great touch – it provided some entertainment to those standing in line waiting to get in and a festive soundtrack to the morning.

Your Questions: Where Do I Get Credentials

Tuesday, April 29th, 2014

By far, this is the question we get asked the most here at

Maybe you haven’t received your annual report from Berkshire Hathaway corporate.

Maybe you did, but forgot to request shareholder passes.

Maybe you requested the shareholder passes, but they haven’t arrived yet.

What should you do?

You need the passes to enter Borsheims during the Friday night shareholder-only cocktail party, Saturday’s annual meeting at the CenturyLink Center and Sunday for Borsheims shareholder-only shopping day.

The passes also help you get those wonderful discounts at Borsheims and Nebraska Furniture Mart.

So what do you do if you don’t have a pass?

Here is what Berkshire Hathaway corporate office says:
There will be a Shareholder Services Kiosk in the lobby of the CenturyLink Center. Any questions or problems you may have regarding the weekend and/or your meeting credentials can be handled at the Kiosk.
The kiosk is open on Friday, May 2 from Noon to 6pm. It is open again on Saturday from 7am to 4:30pm.

In order to obtain a credential from the kiosk, you will need to present proof of ownership and a photo ID.

We do not have any access to shareholder credentials at Borsheims, so please pick them up before you come to our cocktail party. It makes us sad when we have to turn people away.

See you soon!

All you need to do is bring your credential with you to Borsheims when you come in to shop.

You can also call and talk to an associate over the phone if you are out of town.

Chess, Bridge, Magic & Ping Pong for Berkshire Shareholders

Sunday, May 5th, 2013

The fun and games start at 1pm today at Borsheims for Berkshire Hathaway shareholders.

And we want you to have fun and games, too! Join us by playing along. Here’s how:

BRIDGE Bridge is again upstairs this year on the second floor of Regency Court. Anyone is welcome to play as long as they know how to play bridge. It helps if you already have your foursome put together, but if you are solo come upstairs and sign up and we will try to get a group together for you. Bridge usually begins at 1pm, but a few people have been known to start playing earlier. I say get there by noon at the latest if you definitely want a seat. The experts, Sharon Osberg and Bob Hamann usually arrive between noon and 1pm. We do not know if Warren Buffett or Bill Gates will play bridge this year.

CHESS This is really amazing to watch. Patrick Wolff is a two-time U.S. Chess Champion and Grandmaster. He will play six people at the same time while blindfolded. It is incredible to see. If you want to be one of the six people to try to beat Patrick, you can sign up at the Media/Info kiosk in the center of Regency Court starting at noon. At 1pm, we will take the list over to the chess area and draw the names of the six people who will play. You must be there at 1pm when your name is called in order to have a seat.

TABLE TENNIS Mr. Buffett asked Ariel Hsing, Olympic Table Tennis star, back to Borsheims for another shareholders weekend! We are expecting her to start playing around 1pm. Shareholders can form a queue to try their table tennis skills against the young champ. We will provide paddles and balls, but if you are partial to one you are welcome to bring it. She usually stays for a few hours and rarely gets beat, but you are welcome to try! We do not know if Mr. Buffett or Mr. Gates will play against Ariel Hsing this year.

MAGICIAN Norman Beck is an excellent magician and will do tricks in front of (and to) any shareholder near where he is performing. He is usually located near Williams Sonoma, so be camped out there if you are hoping to catch his show.

Berkshire Shareholder Shopping Day is here!

Sunday, May 5th, 2013

Aaah…. we love shareholder shopping day!

Sunday is my personal favorite day of Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend.

Friday night is fun, but a little on the wild side.

Saturday is fun, but most of the action is at the CenturyLink Center.

FAQ: Where can I get Shareholder Credentials

Monday, April 29th, 2013

Count this question as one of the most frequently asked ones here at Borsheims: Where can I get my shareholder credentials?

If you didn’t request (and thus didn’t receive) your shareholder credentials in the mail in the past few weeks, you should call Berkshire Hathaway headquarters directly and request some. Their phone number is (402)346-1400.

We cannot provide you with credentials here at Borsheims or on this blog.

And if you happen to get to Omaha without your credentials or forget yours somewhere along the way, you can visit the shareholder information kiosk at the CenturyLink Center. It is open Friday, May 3 from noon to 6pm and Saturday, May 4 from 7am to 4:30pm. You will need to bring a photo ID and proof of ownership. For full details, check out the Berkshire Hathaway sharholders weekend visitor’s guide.
