Up Early, Watching TV to kick off Berkshire Weekend

Friday, April 29th, 2011

All you Berkshire Hathaway shareholders are already up watching tv, right? What better way to prepare for a great weekend full of cocktail parties, shareholder shopping and the annual shareholders’ meeting than by watching some early morning television?

And of course, the tv is turned to CNBC. (Did you think I was talking about the Royal wedding?)

We love Squawk Box and anchor Becky Quick on CNBC, and we know that she gets unrivaled access to Warren Buffett throughout the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders’ weekend.

This year, she’ll have an entirely new level of access!

Monday morning, Becky Quick will be broadcasting live from inside Borsheims starting at 5:00am. It’s behind the scenes access that has never before been done on Berkshire weekend.

We’re thrilled to host Becky and the entire Squawk Box behind-the-scenes crew. We hear she may even have a special guest or two.

So tune into CNBC on Monday for Becky Quick live from Borsheims in Omaha. We can’t promise she’ll be wearing a tiara or an Alexander McQueen dress, but if she wants some jewelry fit for a princess we can certainly provide it!

Sapphires Fit for a Princess

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

Like, for instance the princess who may have a wedding coinciding with Berkshire Hathaway shareholders’ weekend?

Doesn’t this just look like Kate Middleton?

Sapphire Necklace with 87.21 carats of sapphires and 9.03 carats of diamonds. Set in platinum, and retailing for $300,000.

This necklace was brought in specifically for Berkshire Hathaway shareholders’ weekend. And it’s remarkable. All of the sapphires (except for the large center stone) are unheated. Imagine finding this many beautiful, natural stones and then putting them together with platinum and diamonds to form this piece of wearable art. Amazing, isn’t it!?!

And, as always, Borsheims customers never have to pay full price. Although it retails for $300,000, the Borsheims price is $200,000. And the Berkshire Hathaway shareholder price? Even better!

I’m sure we’d give Princess-to-be Kate Middleton a deal, too. But she’ll have to act fast if she wants it in time for the Royal Wedding this weekend!
