Do you know what you are eating five weeks from now?
If you are attending Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend in Omaha May 3 – 5, you might want to start thinking about it! Some of Warren Buffett’s most popular restaurants book up very quickly. So if you want to dine with the Oracle of Omaha, you may want to start thinking food.
Warren Buffett addresses his favorite restaurants in his annual letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders:Gorat’s and Piccolo’s will again be open exclusively for Berkshire shareholders on Sunday, May 5th. Both will be serving until 10 p.m., with Gorat’s opening at 1 p.m. and Piccolo’s opening at 4 p.m. These restaurants are my favorites, and I will eat at both of them on Sunday evening. Remember: To make a reservation at Gorat’s, call 402-551-3733 on April 1st (but not before) and at Piccolo’s call 402-342-9038. At Piccolo’s, order a giant root beer float for dessert. Only sissies get the small one. (I once saw Bill Gates polish off two of the giant variety after a full-course dinner; that’s when I knew he would make a great director.)
Warren Buffett knows good food. And he knows the new owners of Gorat’s well! We will give you an exclusive look inside the newly remodeled Gorat’s in a coming blog post. But for now, figure out where you want to dine (after you’re exhausted from shopping at Borsheims all day Sunday) and make your reservations. You don’t want to get to Omaha and not have a great steak!
