Back by Popular Demand… Warren Buffett Signed Diamonds

Tuesday, April 26th, 2016

We call it Warren Buffett’s tiniest and most valuable signature.

It’s so tiny that the signature can only be seen through a jewelry loupe.

We’ve sold a very limited collection of diamonds inscribed with Warren Buffett’s signature the past few Berkshire weekends and they always sell out very quickly.

So we’ve brought another limited collection back.

We have 40 loose stones – ranging from under a carat to more than five carats. They are round and square shaped diamonds. You can choose to have them made into rings, pendants, earrings, or about anything else you can dream up.

The price on them for shareholders is incredible – starting at just under $1,900 for the smallest stones to $134,000 for the 5.34 carat round.

If you want one, act fast! They’re usually all snatched up by the Sunday of Berkshire weekend.

For Berkshire Shareholders: A Peek Inside Borsheims Luxury Salon

Friday, May 4th, 2012

The luxury salon at Borsheims is a great place to see one-of-a-kind jewelry every day of the year. But today (and through the weekend), we have a ridiculous amount of one-of-a-kind jewelry in the store.

We fly it in just for Berkshire Hathaway shareholders. We know they love to shop, love to look at (and buy) pretty things, and love to get great discounts. At Borsheims, that’s what we offer!25 carat diamond pendant

One of the most expensive items in store this weekend is this 25 carat pear shaped diamond pendant. It is rare in color, size and cut… so it will cost you. $4.5 million is the retail price on it. Your Berkshire Hathaway shareholder discount is bound to knock that price down by quite a bit.

If you buy that pendant necklace, you will probably want to balance it out with a ring. This 18 carat diamond flower ring matches the necklace nicely, since it is comprised of pear cut diamonds. It’s hard to capture this beauty on camera – it’s too sparkly! (Flower Diamond RingWhat a problem to have!)

Some of the jewelry we have in the store takes years to assemble, after all – most of it relies on nature to form it.

This large pearl necklace took about six years to put together. The jeweler needed to find pearls of similar enough size, shape and color to match together and make into a necklace. These South Sea Tahitian cultured pearls range from 17 to 19 mm and have a grey undertone. They are large! The retail price is $600,000 for this one-of-a-kind piece.Large Pearl NecklaceYou can take a look at more of the jewelry we have in store by browsing through this slideshow (or heading over to our Flickr account to page through all our photos!

Berkshire Hathaway Shareholder Could Make History

Monday, April 23rd, 2012

At Borsheims, we always bring in exceptional jewelry, watches and gifts to showcase for our Berkshire Hathaway shareholders during the annual meeting. This year, we’re offering one customer the chance to make history!

Borsheims is presenting a 35,80 carat rough diamond for sale.35 carat rough diamond offered for sale to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders

But the offer doesn’t stop there. The customer who purchases the diamond will journey to Ontario, Canada to work with a master diamantaire to determine the final polished shape of the diamond. That will make this the largest diamond ever mined, cut and polished in Canada.

The diamond originates from the Victor Mine, which is operated by De Beers Canada. The mine is located on the James Bay Coast of Northern Ontario and it produces some of the world’s rarest diamonds.

The customer who purchases the diamond will journey to Sudbury, Ontario, and get a look into the diamond pipeline that is very rarely seen. Once they select the shape for the stone to be cut, the diamond will be cut and polished, then sent via armored car to the Forevermark Diamond Institute in Belgium to be graded and inscribed with the Forevermark logo and a unique identification number. The customer can continue to customize their diamond by having a special message inscribed on the girdle and by choosing a unique faceting pattern to be added to the culet of their diamond.

What an experience!

The price? It’s $2 million retail, but you know we’ll give a much better Borsheims price, plus a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder discount!

Come check it out in the store during Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders weekend and chat with one of our great sales team if you’re interested in making history!

The Vanderbilt Rose

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

Hello Shareholders and Fans,

Vanderbilt Rose and a quarterEvery year, some amazing new pieces are brought into Borsheims for Berkshire Hathaway. This year a historic jewel will be for sale – the Vanderbilt Rose, which has not been for sale for more than one year and a half. But it will be back on the market at this weekend! This historic jewel with royal provenance consists of 250 carats of diamonds. No other piece is comparable in size or importance, making it the most significant piece of French jewelry in today’s market.

The Vanderbilt Rose in its caseThe Vanderbilt Rose was created in 1855, it’s original owner was the niece of Napoleon Bonaparte, Princess Mathilde Bonaparte. Known as a bright individual, Mathilde owned one of the most distinguished literary and artistic salons in Paris during the Second Empire. After her death in 1904, the Vanderbilt Rose was auctioned off and sold by Cartier to Cornelius Vanderbilt III. As the “Queen of New York Society,” the jewel became her signature adornment.

To see this amazing piece of history and many other one-of-a-kind jewels, make sure to visit Borsheims this weekend!

See you soon,

Bill, the blogger
