The Omaha World Herald watched for a bit yesterday as Warren Buffett sold to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders inside Borsheims.
Here is their article about his “lucrative shift” behind the sales counter.
I’m sure they did… but we didn’t get to see or hear any of it.
We were here.

Berkshire Hathaway shareholders wait to buy jewelry and memorabilia at Borsheims Booth at the CenturyLink Center
And we were swamped! You all must have read about the great jewelry deals we had going that were ONLY good for today and ONLY good at the CenturyLink Center.
We sold out of several of the items in the first few hours.
We stil have some left, though. So if you’re shopping this afternoon, stop by and see what we can get you.
And hopefully, the lines will be a bit shorter now.
Thanks for shopping at our Borsheims Booth!
I’m sure we’ll catch up on all of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger’s wit and wisdom soon.
Berkshire Hathaway shareholders visiting Omaha from out of town will have a little extra help finding their way around downtown Omaha again this year.
The Greater Omaha Convention & Visitor’s Bureau is stationing ambassadors around the Old Market and downtown areas to help visitors find their way around. The ambassadors will be easy to spot in their red shirts.
Read all about the program in the Omaha World Herald.
At Borsheims, we always bring in exceptional jewelry, watches and gifts to showcase for our Berkshire Hathaway shareholders during the annual meeting. This year, we’re offering one customer the chance to make history!
Borsheims is presenting a 35,80 carat rough diamond for sale.
But the offer doesn’t stop there. The customer who purchases the diamond will journey to Ontario, Canada to work with a master diamantaire to determine the final polished shape of the diamond. That will make this the largest diamond ever mined, cut and polished in Canada.
The diamond originates from the Victor Mine, which is operated by De Beers Canada. The mine is located on the James Bay Coast of Northern Ontario and it produces some of the world’s rarest diamonds.
The customer who purchases the diamond will journey to Sudbury, Ontario, and get a look into the diamond pipeline that is very rarely seen. Once they select the shape for the stone to be cut, the diamond will be cut and polished, then sent via armored car to the Forevermark Diamond Institute in Belgium to be graded and inscribed with the Forevermark logo and a unique identification number. The customer can continue to customize their diamond by having a special message inscribed on the girdle and by choosing a unique faceting pattern to be added to the culet of their diamond.
What an experience!
The price? It’s $2 million retail, but you know we’ll give a much better Borsheims price, plus a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder discount!
Come check it out in the store during Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders weekend and chat with one of our great sales team if you’re interested in making history!
Especially if you’re a fan of Squawk Box on CNBC. You know they’ll be wrapping up all the great things that happened during Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend, and they’ll be doing it live from Borsheims starting tomorrow (Monday) morning at 5:00am!
We’re excited to have Becky Quick and crew in the store not-so-bright and very, very early. They’ll be here throughout the day, too, so if you’re still in Omaha, stop by. Borsheims opens for shopping at 10:00 Monday morning and is open until 8:00pm.
Your Berkshire Hathaway shareholder discount is good through Saturday, May 7.
With Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend about to wrap up (Borsheims closes at 4 today), we realize you may want to do even more shopping. Don’t worry, we have the perfect solution!
The Borsheims Berkshire Hathaway gift card is a new product this year. You can purchase one in any denomination and it will allow the user of the gift card to receive Berkshire Hathaway shareholder pricing no matter when they use it.
What a great gift! And the recipient doesn’t even have to be a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder to receive the discount.
So come in and buy a gift card, and remember that the regular discount period runs through Saturday, May 7, at Borsheims and ends Monday, May 2, at Nebraska Furniture Mart.
Berkshire Hathaway shareholders who staked out spots early for this morning’s annual meeting had plenty of reading material. The Omaha World Herald published a special Berkshire Hathaway edition. It is great – full of insight to all things Berkshire. They do a run down of who might be in line for Warren Buffett’s job and talk with several shareholders who made the pilgrimage to Omaha.

If you thought the Royal wedding was romantic… check this out!
These shareholders got engaged at Borsheims just a few minutes ago. Dick and Cynthia have been dating for about a year and a half. They were in Omaha for the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders’ meeting last year and returned this year to look at rings.
When Dick put this cushion cut emerald on Cynthia’s finger, it fit just right. So he asked her to marry him. Right there at the counter.
There was crying. And then lots of kissing!
And there was, of course, a very excited ‘yes’!!!
We are so thrilled for them, and so excited we could be a part of their big day. Congratulations Dick and Cynthia!!!
