What to Expect at the 2017 BRK Shareholders Weekend

Saturday, February 25th, 2017

It is officially Berkshire Hathaway season here in Omaha!

Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend is approaching, and the excitement really kicks off when Warren Buffett outlines the weekend in his annual letter to shareholders. (It was just released an hour ago – You can read the letter here.)

Here is what you need to know for the 2017 Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders weekend:
  • It is May 5, 6, and 7 in Omaha.
  • Yahoo Finance will live-stream the meeting again for those who cannot travel to Omaha. (Warren Buffett says 1.1 million viewers watched it live last year, with another 11.5 million replays. Most people thanked him, saying they were too old, too thrifty, or their religion kept them from attending in person).
  • Shopping at the CenturyLink Center on Friday and Saturday was HUGE, and it will again be open on Friday from noon to 5pm and Saturday from 6am to 5pm. I know our team at Borsheims has ordered extra items this year!
  • The official schedule of events is found here, but Mr. Buffett’s letter details a few more offerings, like the newspaper toss and what specific books you should purchase at the Bookworm’s booth.
  • Nebraska Furniture Mart will offer discounts in its Kansas City and Dallas area stores for the first time this year to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders. Shareholders will still need to show proof of ownership to get the discount.
  • We love this special shout-out from Mr. Buffett’s daughter regarding Borsheims:
At Borsheims, we will again have two shareholder-only events. The first will be a cocktail reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 5th. The second, the main gala, will be held on Sunday, May 7th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturday, we will remain open until 6 p.m. Remember, the more you buy, the more you save (or so my daughter tells me when we visit the store)
We can’t wait for everyone to come see us, and we totally agree that the more you buy at Borsheims, the more you save! You can start your saving now by shopping online. We even have some of our 2017 Berkshire Hathaway gear ready to sell, including a whiskey set, a Montblanc pen with Warren’s signature, and dozens of other Berkshire Hathaway items.

Berkshire Hathaway shareholders love to sport their Berkshire Hathaway love. At Borsheims, we’re happy to help them!

We’ve adorned them in t-shirts, hats and bags proudly sporting the Berkshire Hathaway name. This year, we have a few new ways to show your BRK pride.

Where to buy your Berkshire Hathaway memorabilia

Friday, April 29th, 2011

If you’re coming to the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders’ meeting, you HAVE to go home with a souvenir.

And while we’re happy to sell you all the jewelry, watches and gifts you can buy, we know people also want to sport their love of Berkshire Hathaway with some swanky memorabilia.

We’ve shown you already on this blog the great items for sale to commemorate this year’s annual meeting.

Now, here’s where you can purchase them at Borsheims! Because the store gets a little crazy with all the people shopping for jewelry, watches and gifts, we’ve moved the memorabilia out into the mall area. Just look for this great booth set up just outside of the mall entrance to Borsheims. The great Borsheims’ staff members behind the counter can help you take home any of the memorabilia you wish!

You can always find the same memorabilia at the Qwest Center in the Borsheims booth on Saturday, but why wait!?! In fact, if you’re planning to camp outside the Qwest Center tonight to get a good seat at tomorrow’s annual meeting, you’ll probably want to buy the Berkshire Hathaway pillow and blanket, the travel mug, and maybe the umbrella before you start your camp out!

And again, if you couldn’t make the trip but are living vicariously through this blog, you can get your memorabilia at!

Shareholder Dilemma

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

It happens every year. Berkshire Hathaway shareholders come to Omaha to attend the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders’ meeting, visit the exhibition hall at the Qwest Center and end up buying more than they can carry home with them.

Well fret no more, people. Borsheims has the solution right inside its booth at the Qwest Center. It’s called the RuMe bag:

The bag rolls up into a tiny size to fit in your pocket, purse or briefcase. Then, when you need it (like after you’ve purchased armloads of Berkshire Hathaway-related products), just unroll it and go. You can fit a lot of goodies into the 15.5″ bag. But don’t try to take the Dilly bars home in the bag. They melt and MUST be eaten immediately!

Hot Sellers Return to BRK Memorabilia Line-Up

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

Have you spent the past year guessing how Warren Buffett or Charlie Munger would answer your questions? All the while, your friends have had the answer in the palms of their hands?

You must have been one of the unlucky hundreds who didn’t get their hands on a Magic Answer Ball during last year’s Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders’ meeting. Borsheims sold out of them quickly, but this year ordered more. So now you can stop waiting to make all your big life decisions until the answer ball tells you to “Buy Now,” “Diversify,” or the always popular “I have nothing to add.” Buy now online if you’re worried about them selling out again, or try your luck at Borsheims or the Qwest Center.

We also reordered the train banks after a huge demand for them last year. Find details here.

New Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders’ Weekend Memorabilia

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

The 2011 Berkshire Hathaway memorabilia has been unveiled, and you’ll want to get your hands on some before you set foot in Omaha! Since the theme of this year’s annual meeting is “Planes, Trains and Automobiles,” the great staff at Borsheims selected the perfect pieces of memorabilia to complement the theme.

For instance, traveling by plane? Don’t use the nasty old neck pillow and blanket that everyone on the hundreds of flights before you has used. Carry your very own travel pillow and blanket, emblazoned with the BRK logo! The blanket actually comes inside the pillow, and then you can inflate the pillow when you take the blanket out. How convenient is that!?! And I touched this set while I was photographing it. It’s cozy. It made me want to curl up right on the sales floor in Borsheims for a nap. It’s $45 and can be purchased here, now!

I haven’t traveled by train in a while, but the last time I did you could bring your own water (a definite perk over air travel!). No one will look sportier on the train than you if you’re carrying this Warren and Charlie Travel Mug. Fill it with water, tea, Coca Cola, or whatever beverage warms your heart (within security regulations, of course!). This mug will keep hot things hot and cold things cold. In addition to the photo of Warren and Charlie on the front, it also has the names of each of the Berkshire Hathaway companies exhibiting at the Qwest Center during the 2011 Berkshire Hathaway shareholders’ meeting. Buy it here for $15.

Driving to the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting? Keep track of your keys on this Berkshire Hathaway stock certificate key chain. This sterling silver key ring was custom made to look like a Berkshire Hathaway stock certificate. It will dress up any set of keys so much, no one will be able to tell if you’re driving an old beater or the newest model right off the showroom floor. The BRK Key Ring costs $99 and can be purchased here.

For the few shareholders who live within walking distance of us, we have you covered. Literally! This Berkshire Hathaway umbrella will keep you dry. And since you live here, you know that it can rain at a moment’s notice. Keep this umbrella handy and impress your friends with your preparedness and stylishness! Buy it now here for $25.

Of course, all of the Berkshire Hathaway memorabilia will be available during the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders’ weekend. You can visit the booth set up at the entrance to Borsheims Friday and Sunday, or visit our booth in the exhibit hall of the Qwest Center on Saturday. But a word of warning… some of the popular items last year sold out on Friday. So if there’s something you really want, grab it Friday. Or grab it now and browse the selection at
