Use the Official Hashtag of Berkshire Weekend 2016

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016

We love connecting with all of you throughout Berkshire Hathaway weekend and the best way to do it is by using the hashtag #BRK2016.

BRK2016

Bonus – if you use the hashtag on Instagram and Twitter, your posts will appear on the giant video screen inside Regency Court and in the tent outside Borsheims. It’s a great way to interact with others throughout the event.

Use the hashtag. Connect. Be on the big screen. #BRK2016

Back by Popular Demand… Warren Buffett Signed Diamonds

Tuesday, April 26th, 2016

We call it Warren Buffett’s tiniest and most valuable signature.

It’s so tiny that the signature can only be seen through a jewelry loupe.

WEB Signature Inscription

We’ve sold a very limited collection of diamonds inscribed with Warren Buffett’s signature the past few Berkshire weekends and they always sell out very quickly.

So we’ve brought another limited collection back.

We have 40 loose stones – ranging from under a carat to more than five carats. They are round and square shaped diamonds. You can choose to have them made into rings, pendants, earrings, or about anything else you can dream up.

The price on them for shareholders is incredible – starting at just under $1,900 for the smallest stones to $134,000 for the 5.34 carat round.

If you want one, act fast! They’re usually all snatched up by the Sunday of Berkshire weekend.

Get a Sneak Peek of the #BRK2016 Visitor’s Guide

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016

We have a special treat for Berkshire Hathaway shareholders today. How about a sneak peek of the 2016 Visitor’s Guide!?!

Visitor's GuideWe’ve linked to it on the right hand side of this page.

Or you can just click here to see it, too.

If you don’t have time to peruse it now, I can tell you that it is very similar to guides from prior years. One thing did catch my eye… Fruit of the Loom may have outdone themselves this year. Check out their ad from the 2016 Visitor’s Guide. Happy reading!

Watch the BRK Meeting Online This Year

Friday, January 29th, 2016

Well this is news!

The Omaha World Herald and the Wall Street Journal are reporting that Berkshire Hathaway will stream this year’s annual meeting online. Shareholders have been asking about this possibility for years and we are glad to see it happening!

In no particular order, here are a list of the reasons why this will be awesome:
  • More people than ever will get a glimpse of the hilarity that is Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger combined.
  • The meeting gets bigger every year – last year the overflow room I was in was standing-room-only and I heard all the overflow rooms were equally as packed. I don’t think having people sit on each other’s laps through the day-long meeting is a great plan, so….
  • A live stream of the meeting means more shopping time for shareholders! They can browse at Borsheims while watching the meeting on our in-store big screens or their smartphones.
  • Two words: Berkshire Movie. Once that piece of fine art is online, it is bound to go viral.
  • Shareholders will still come to Omaha. In droves. If not only for the chance to hang with other shareholders and get a glimpse of Warren Buffett, they definitely will keep coming for our free food and drinks and amazing shopping!
In all seriousness, we are glad to see Berkshire Hathaway make this technology leap. The more people who can learn from Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, the better, right?

And for the few shareholders who may opt to sit this trip to Omaha out and watch from the comfort of their far away city, we welcome them to get their Berkshire souvenirs and fine jewelry anytime they wish from our handy dandy website, borsheims.com.

Berkshire Weekend 2016

Thank You Mr. Buffett and Mr. Gates. Thank You Shareholders.

What an amazing day at Borsheims!

We had two legendary philanthropists, businessmen, and overall amazing humans visit us.Buffett and Gates play ping pong

They may not be the best table tennis players in the world (that title may rest with Olympian Ariel Hsing, who played Buffett and Gates and then Berkshire shareholders for nearly two hours Sunday afternoon), but Warren Buffett and Bill Gates were a delight to have at Borsheims once again.

Gates, Buffett, Hsing They played table tennis and then sat down for a few hands of bridge with bridge expert Sharon Osberg and several other shareholders.

We feel so fortunate to be a part of the Berkshire Hathaway family every day of the year, but nothing reminds us more of our good fortune than the Sunday of Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend.

Thanks to all our shareholders who travel from all over the world to visit with us, shop with us, and celebrate 50 years of Berkshire Hathaway with us.

Here’s to 50 more!

Berkshire Hathaway in Good Company Turning 50

1965 must have been a pretty fabulous year, because a lot of wonderful things (and cool people) are turning 50 this year.

Here’s a very incomplete rundown of the company Berkshire Hathaway is in for this major milestone.

50th Anniversary Jewelry for 50 Years of Berkshire Hathaway

Tuesday, April 28th, 2015

At Borsheims, we know how to celebrate anniversaries. After all, it’s what we’ve been doing for more than a century.

We’ve helped married couples far and wide find the perfect way to commemorate their wedding anniversaries. Our corporate gifts team helps companies recognize employees who are celebrating milestone anniversaries. And this year, we are helping Berkshire Hathaway shareholders to mark a big anniversary – 50 years of Berkshire Hathaway as an investment company.

This type of occasion calls for jewelry!

We ordered some very special jewelry pieces to commemorate 50 years of Berkshire Hathaway.

These pieces will only be available on Friday and Saturday at the CenturyLink Center from the Borsheims booth.

We expect this limited edition stock certificate pendant (seen on the left) to be a hot item, so we made it in several different styles. The one featured here is gold with diamonds. We also have gold without diamonds, sterling silver with a gold frame and sterling silver. The pendant is held onto the chain with the letters BH. The prices range from $160 for the sterling silver version to more than $10,000 for the gold pendant with over 3 carats of diamonds.

50 Charm Pendant

We have another 50th anniversary pendant that we’re selling for $50. It is the 50th anniversary charm pendant, featuring a 50 and Berkshire Hathaway on the front and Warren Buffett’s signature on the back. It is sterling silver with a yellow tone.

If you’re more a bracelet type, we have you covered, too. And we won’t stop you from commemorating 50 years with cufflinks, earrings, watches or rings either. They might not all say ’50’ on them, but they’re still a great way to celebrate.

See the slideshow below to check out all the special Berkshire Hathaway commemorative pieces and other items for sale at the Borsheims booth at the CenturyLink Center. And get there early! Some of these limited edition pieces will sell out quickly!

Warren Buffett, Retired Jewelry Salesman

Tuesday, April 14th, 2015

We knew it couldn’t last forever. Our best (and certainly our most well-known) jewelry salesman retired after an incredible few stints behind the jewelry counter.

Warren Selling

Warren Buffett sells jewelry to a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder during the 2012 Shareholders Meeting

Calling himself “Crazy Warren,” Mr. Buffett sold jewelry to shareholders during a two-hour shift inside Borsheims luxury salon on the Sunday of Berkshire Hathaway weekend. He made some big sales and lived up to his “Crazy Warren” moniker by giving prices so low it made our President & CEO cringe.

But what truly made Warren Buffett a great salesman was that he was able to participate in the special moments in our customers’ lives… including this surprising moment last year.

While we will miss Mr. Buffett behind the jewelry counter, we’re thrilled to still welcome him to Borsheims during the shareholders weekend. Each year, he comes by and is a part of the entertainment, playing ping pong or bridge and shaking a few shareholders’ hands along the way. Come by on Sunday, May 3, and see our best retired salesperson for yourself!
