Omaha, NE – Dozens of Berkshire Hathaway shareholders had the opportunity to purchase jewelry from Warren Buffett today (Sunday, May 5) at Borsheims Jewelry in Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Buffett offered shareholders his “Crazy Warren” pricing – a big discount off the shareholders already large discount they receive during the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend.
Shareholders interested in buying jewelry from Mr. Buffett have been working with sales associates and making appointments for weeks. The times to buy from Mr. Buffett booked up quickly, with a record number of shareholders requesting appointments.Mr. Buffett’s sales ranged from diamonds to watches to a ruby ring.
Here are a few stories about what he sold:
- A young man wrote Mr. Buffett a letter saying he wanted to buy his engagement ring from him. Mr. Buffett wrote the man back, saying he would. The man bought the diamond ring from Mr. Buffett Sunday afternoon and Mr. Buffett told him, “it comes with a guarantee that she’ll say yes.”
- One shareholder found a ring with brown diamonds in the shape of a snake. She was born in the year of the snake and had always wanted a snake ring. Mr. Buffett sold her the ring, then posed for photos with the shareholder and her snake ring.
- Another shareholder bought three of Borsheims new signature diamonds*. She plans to have them made into earrings and a ring. She made the purchase with her children and grandchildren standing around her.
The Borsheims Signature Diamonds are new this year at Borsheims. Borsheims highly knowledgeable staff worked with a diamantaire in finding the best possible cut for the new line of stones. The result is a star cut into the culet of the diamond, giving the diamond additional fire and brilliance. (The culet is the tiny facet or point on the base of gemstone that reflects light passing through the stone.) These diamonds come from Canada’s Northwest Territory, where miners and environmentalists have worked closely together for the past decade to determine the best and most environmentally-friendly way to extract the diamonds forming there for more than three billion years. Each Signature Diamond is laser-inscribed with a one-of-a-kind identification number, the Borsheims name and a maple leaf guaranteeing its Canadian origin. The ID numbers are registered with the GIA, allowing customers to always be able to identify their diamond and trace its roots back to the mines in Canada.
The man who wears the nametag “Crazy Warren” has just wrapped up his two hour salesman stint at Borsheims.
It was incredible! Thanks for all your hard work, Mr. Buffett! Hope to see you back on the salesfloor in a year!
We know that all Berkshire Hathaway shareholders love to hear what Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger have to say.
We also know that some of those shareholders love to listen to the Oracle for just a little bit and then they love to check out Berkyville and shop!
We are more than happy to help with that at our new-and-improved Borsehims Booth at the CenturyLink Center.
We love how it looks:What we love even more are the jewelry deals we have waiting for you this morning.
My personal favorites are these Swarovski crystal earrings that we are selling for just $60. They look much more expensive (and they usually are! Berkshire shareholders get such a deal!).
We have jewelry items for as low aw $20, all the way up to a $9,900 pair of diamond earrings. Come visit us in the exhibition hall this morning and we will be happy to help you find a piece of Borsheims to take home with you!
A lot of shareholders want to see the most expensive piece we have in store at Borsheims.
I think this is it this year.
It’s the Majestic Pink Diamond Bracelet. You will never see another one like it.
I know we have talked about it before on this blog, but it is worth another mention.
It’s $8 million (that’s retail – shareholders will get it for much less!).
Each stone is so incredible, it has its own GIA certificate. It is unbelievable to find this many stones close enough in size, color and shape to match and assemble a bracelet.
What do you think? Want to buy it from Warren Buffett on Sunday? He would love to sell it to you!
If Borsheims had its own theme for this year’s Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend, it might be colored diamonds!
We are swimming in them (not literally… although that would be very, very cool!).
They were once reserved for royalty and the very wealthy, but we have them in all shapes, sizes and price points!
From a pink diamond ring for under $10,000 to a Majestic bracelet retailing for $8 million, we have it all!
They are all for sale this weekend at Borsheims. Come buy one from our friendly sales associates. Or buy one from our one-day-a-year sales associate, Warren Buffett. He promises a “Crazy Warren” price!
Here are some of the most unique pieces:

We are calling this ring the “traffic light ring.” It has fancy purple pink, fancy vivid yellow and fancy intense yellowish green diamonds. It retails for $436,000.

This ring has a 1.50 carat radiant cut fancy vivid yellowish green diamond surrounded with pear shape and pink diamonds. It retails for $800,000.

The Majestic Pink Diamond Bracelet can never be duplicated. It has 204 square-cut marquise and raidant pink diamonds totalling more than 43 carats. Every diamond in this bracelet has its own GIA certificate. There are not enough diamonds remaining of this color and quality to make another bracelet like this one. It retails for $8 million.
Everyone needs a Swarovski crystal studded peacock, right?
Berkshire Hathaway shareholders are in luck because there are TWO available at Borsheims this weekend.
With 18,854 pieces of Swarovski crystals and real peacock feathers, this colored peacock from Brinkerhoff & Company retails for $15,500.
The all-clear crystal version retails for $16,000. They are both very cool!
We have mentioned this before but it bears repeating.
Borsheims has special deals on jewelry available ONLY at the CenturyLink Center during Saturday’s Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders meeting. These deals are impressive! They are gorgeous pieces of jewelry available at prices that are ridiculously low.
And we have something for everyone!
From a set of three pearl bracelets for $20 to 2 carat diamond stud earrings for $9,900, we have a big selection of jewelry that you can proudly take home in our signature silver box with the burgundy ribbon.
