This Year’s Berkshire the Last for Chess Champ

April 14, 2014

A word of warning for all of our Berkshire Hathaway shareholder chess fans: Patrick Wolff says this year’s Berkshire will be his last.

Mr. Wolff has been a staple at the Sunday shareholder-only shopping day during Berkshire Hathaway shareholder weekend. Each year, Warren Buffett invites shareholders to come and play the two-time US Chess Champion. And Mr. Wolff takes the shareholders on six at a time, all while he’s blindfolded. It’s incredible to witness!

Shareholders arrive bright and early in order to try to take Mr. Wolff on. A few have beat Mr. Wolff over the years, but not many.

We are sad to see him go, but so grateful for all the years and time he has given to Berkshire Hathaway. Make sure to thank Patrick Wolff when you see him this year, and if you’d like to be one of the lucky ones to get a match in with him, see me at the info table bright and early Sunday morning!
